AIKEN – Funeral services for Romie Freer Ferrell, Jr., 87, of Aiken, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, February 1, 2013 at the Chapel of GEORGE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTER, Aiken. Officiating will be Pastor Tad Marshall. Burial with military honors will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Mr. Ferrell, passed away Monday, January 28, 2013. Born in Spencer, W. Virginia a son of the late Romie & Hattie Harris Ferrell. He was a lifetime member of the National Wild Turkey Federation, loved hunting, fishing and was an avid outdoorsman. He was also a lifetime member of the NRA. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Corky Ferrell; a brother, Royce Ferrell and sisters, Goldie Westfall, Ina Mae Post, Genevieve Ferrell and Betty Thompson.

Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Mrs. Cora Ferrell of Aiken; a son, Doug Ferrell (Jan) of Aiken; daughters, Connie Ferrell and Becky Johnson, both of Aiken; a sister, Beulah Smith (Chester) of Spencer, W. Virginia; 4 grandchildren, Beth, Michael, Samantha and Michelle and 2 great-grandchildren, Colton and Amelia.
