WAGENER —Maryellyn Alphonse Gunter, 70, was called home by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on March 3, 2013. Born in Charleston, SC, she was the daughter of Frances Charles “Al and Helen “Nickie” Alphonse and was predeceased by her husband, Robert “Bob” Gunter. Mary graduated from Cardinal-Newman High School and attended St. Francis School of Nursing. A celebration of Life will be held at the home on Tuesday March 5, 2013 from 4 - 7 pm.
Surviving are her Uncle, Emmitt Alphonse (Kitty), Uncle James Heslop (Bonnie), Uncle John Heslop (Bonnie) and Aunt Mary Irene Shields. Mrs. Gunter is also survived by her adopted family, Wendy and Tom Wingard and her “Grandson”, Blake.
Mary was a loyal Notre Dame and USC Gamecock fan and loved life and her many loyal friends, including, Tim and Bobby Haechten, Barbara Thomas, Jim and Delores Pitts, Beulah Fordham, and Lee and Janet Kyzer. Mary will be dearly missed by all who loved her.
