AIKEN – Entered into rest Saturday March 9, 2013 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers, Mr. Henry Parker Carswell age 81 son of the late Mr. Walter Carswell and the late Mrs. Irene McCassling Carswell.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Friday March 15, 2013 at Cole Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Seward Grice officiating. Interment will be private.

Mr. Carswell was native of Barnwell County ( Dunbarton) and had lived most of his life in Newark, NJ before moving to Aiken County SC where he has resided for the past 13 years. He retired in 1990 as a long distance truck driver in Newark, NJ. Mr. Carswell was of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors include one daughter, Dora Jean Scott, Brooklyn, NY; 2 adopted daughters, Carlene Poole, Newark, NJ, Velma Fedrick, Philadelphia, PA; one brother, Roosevelt Carswell, Aiken; one sister Bertha Carswell, Aiken; eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Evelyn Carswell, Manhatten, NY; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Mr. Carswell was predeceased by three brother, Tillman, Walter, and William Carswell.
