AIKEN – Mrs. Etta Pittman Christenbury, 82, of Aiken, passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2013 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers, following an illness. Services will be private and are under the care of GEORGE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTER, Aiken.
A daughter of the late J. Vernon Pittman & Helen Foil Riggs, she was born in Washington, D.C., and was a long time resident of Charlotte before moving to Aiken. She was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, wife and mother.
Etta is survived by her husband, Ben L. Christenbury; sons, Ben W. Christenbury (Anne) of Rock Hill, SC, Mark V. Christenbury of Raleigh, NC, Damon L. Christenbury (Laura) of Fountain Inn, SC and Glenn A. Christenbury (Laura) of Aiken; a sister, Helen Overman (Don) of Norfolk, VA; and seven grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family request any desired contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC, 29210.
