Mrs. Baumann was born in Pueblo, CO, to the late Grace Barker Wilson. She moved to Aiken in 1955 and worked as a chemist for EI DuPont. Mrs. Baumann was an early pioneer as a female chemist at the Savannah River Laboratory. She retired in 1993 and became active with the Lifelong Learning Program at USCA.
She is survived by a daughter Barbara Baumann (Michael Conrad), Gaithers-burg, MD; a sister-in-law, Alice Rahmeier, Salina, KS; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Paul Baumann.
Funeral services will be held privately.
