NORTH AUGUSTA, S. C. – Mr. Alex J. Merriweather, 76, of Ridge Road, entered into rest February 14, 2013. Funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, February 17, 2013 at Mims Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Limuer Myers officiating. Interment will be in the Mims Family Cemetery. Mr. Merriweather, a native of Edgefield County was a member of Poplar Spring Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Willie Jo Mims Merriweather; a son, Frederick M. (Demetries) Merriweather,; four daughters, Sandra Merriweather, Linda (John) Broadwater, Melissa (Linzie) Johnson and Jacqueline Griffin (James) Rivers; a brother, George (Alexine) Merriweather; a sister, Lillian (Randolph) Wade; 12 grandchildren,5 great grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends. Friends may call the residence or after 1 p.m. today at the funeral home.
