Way of the Mayans

I guess the rest of our forests will be destroyed to provide wood pellets for other countries. The Mayan civilization fell because of deforestation.

Blinking light

I was wondering if there's any way they could just put up a blinking light on Chukker Creek Road during the day and on the weekends, have the red light during school and work hours, but, other than that, have a blinking light.

Happy birthday!

My family hosted a beautiful 65th birthday for me. I would like to thank all of my friends and family who came. We all had a wonderful time, and the weather was great. The party was well-attended by many members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

It is amazing to me that grown folks do not know that you have to yield for pedestrians. True, cars have blindspots; and pedestrians have to look out for cars. But when you see a pedestrian and you keep going, that's just - I don't know what it's called. But I wish people of Aiken would wake up.

Thank you

I would like to thank the fellows that cleaned up Hitchcock Parkway on Saturday. It is so neat. Thank you guys.

One more rule of etiquette to add to Dr. Mack's helpful list: If a piece of music has several parts, do not applaud after each part. Wait until the end when the conductor drops his arms or when the soloist does.

Lost Laya

We have a loving dog of 16 years that is now lost. My 16-year-old son grew up with her, and that's his baby. He recently lost his father about 5 months ago; now his best friend. I have to thank Kelly Hofstetter of Winding Lane Kennels for making flyers for us that we posted all around Old Jackson Highway. Laya is loved by us so much, and we're hoping TalkBack will post this so maybe we can have somebody bring her home If anyone sees our precious Laya, please call us so we can get her home. She's a 2 pound brown chihuahua. She is gray in her face because she is 16 years old. She stands about 8 to 12 inches tall.
