Tennis

South Aiken 6, Barnwell 0

The South Aiken High School girls' tennis team beat Barnwell on Thursday. The Thoroughbreds (5-2) got singles wins from Kayla Calvert (6-0. 6-0), Elizabeth Butler (6-3, 6-1), Megan Swarthout (6-0, 6-0), Tanvi Patel (6-1, 6-0) and Audrey Thomas (6-0, 6-0). The doubles team of Elise Jones and Tyi Richards prevailed 6-1, 6-1. South Aiken will return to action on Tuesday against Dutch Fork at Odell Weeks.

Golf

South Aiken defeats Midland Valley and Aiken

Playing at Woodside Plantation, the South Aiken High School girls' golf team posted a team total of 190 to beat rivals Aiken and Midland Valley. Brook Hutto led the way for the T-Breds, carding a 42. Other South Aiken girls included Madison Giacabone (48), Anna Freeman (50), Hannah Baughman (55) and Alexa Lusscz (50). The T-Breds will travel to Hilton Head this weekend for a WSCGA tournament.

Volleyball

Schofield M.S. 3

Ridge Spring-Monetta 0

Schofield defeated Ridge Spring-Monetta, prevailing 25-10, 25-11, 25-7. Wallace Townsend had 17 aces, while Sarah Morlaes contributed five assists and Deziah Perry added three kills for Schofield (5-2), which will return to action on Monday at home against New Ellenton.

Kennedy M.S. 3

Aiken 0

Kennedy (7-0) beat Aiken 25-6, 25-13, 25-22. Kennedy will play next Thursday at AL Corbett.

Football

LBC M.S. 30

Silver Bluff 14

LBC defeated Silver Bluff 30-14 on Wednesday. Leading the way for the Lions was Tayler "Pudge" Wade and Devin Young, who combined for 250 total yards and four touchdowns with Wade tacking on three two-point conversions. LBC will travel to play North Augusta MS next week with first place at stake.
