Darley Stable's Crossbow and Fox Ridge Farm's Yield Bogey have been entered in Friday's 7-furlong $80,000 Mom's Command Stakes on the turf at Belmont Park.
Yield Bogey will carry 118 pounds and drew post position no. 5. Crossbow has been assigned 118 pounds, and will break from the eight hole in the field of 10 entries.
A durable campaigner, Yield Bogey is an 8-year-old gelding who has gone to post more than 30 times, is multiple graded stakes placed, and will have Hall-of-Fame jockey Edgar Prado in the irons. The son of Langfuhr placed third in his last start the Win Stakes on Aug. 29 at Saratoga, where the bay gelding was in front in the stretch before surrendering the lead. Pat Kelly conditions Yield Bogey, who was trained in Aiken by both Sally Cluff and Suzy Haslup. Yield Bogey finished third earlier this year in both the 7-furlong Grade 3 Jaipur Stakes and the 1-mile Grade 3 Poker Stakes.
Yield Bogey has earned $333,371.
Darley Stable's graded stakes placed Crossbow, who finished fourth in his last start the Affiliate Stakes at Belmont Park on Sept. 8, will have 2-time Eclipse Award winning Jockey Ramon Dominguez up. The son of Bernardini placed third in the Grade 3 James Marvin Stakes at Saratoga Race Course on July 20. The Mom's Command will be Crossbow's turf debut. Crossbow is a half-brother to stakes placed Forest Prince. The 4-year-old bay colt is conditioned by Kiaran McLaughlin. Tim Jones broke and trained Crossbow in Aiken. Crossbow has earned $182,076.
