Darley's Dance Card wins stakes debut

Darley Stable's Dance Card drifted out wide, but was much the best Sunday afternoon as she won her stakes debut by daylight. The 3-year-old filly captured the 1 1/16-mile Belle Cherie Stakes at Belmont Park, winning by an authoritative 7 -length margin. The daughter of Grade 1 winner Tapit was confidently handled by 2-time Eclipse Award winning jockey Ramon Dominguez. Tim Jones trained Dance Card in Aiken.

The Kiaran McLaughlin charge was coming into the race off of consecutive victories during her sophomore campaign. The winner is a full-sister to multiple graded stakes placed Tempted to Tapit.

Dance Card was purchased by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's Darley Stable, John Ferguson as agent, at the 2011 Fasig-Tipton March Select 2-Year-Olds in Training Sale at Boynton Beach, Fla., for $750,000, from the consignment of Stephens Thoroughbreds, agent for Vision Racing and Sales. Dance Card increased her lifetime earnings to $162,200.
