TalkBack: Patience, Paychecks, Taxes

Be patient

This is in regard to a TalkBack on segregation. I just want to say, this person doesn't really understand how hard it is for elderly people to use the restroom, and instead of being ugly about it he should have waited patiently. I understand he had his young son, but we should respect our elders, not be ugly about it.

Explain the paychecks

I would like to know if someone could explain to me how South Carolina is supposed to suffering from money and yet Gov. Nikki Haley can give her staff around $27,000 to $29,000 raises. One she gave $100,000 to $122,000 a year. What kind of governor do we have when they want to cut teacher's pay, yet she can give them a raise? Is she in touch with the people that need? She just cares about the people that she can give the raise. I would like to have a bump up of a raise of $5,000 to $122,000.

He paid his taxes

No one is mad at Romney for not paying his taxes, because he did pay his taxes. Only one person in America said Romney didn't pay his taxes. That was Sen. Harry Reid, and he lied. See, Mr. Romney worked hard over the last 20 or so years. He didn't spend all the money that he earned on lottery tickets, beer and trailer rent, so he had some left over. This is called savings. He used his savings to invest in things. Like people who build stuff and sell it for a profit. He is now living off the money he saved and invested. It's not the same as the money you get at the liquor store when you cash your check on Friday. Mr. Romney has already paid taxes on his money.

Didn't prosecute Bush

The GOP party talking about President Obama need to be prosecuted. That's a laugh to me. They didn't prosecute President Bush. Look at what he did. He started wars on two fronts and got a bunch of our soldiers killed looking for WMDs.

Read carefully

To the person who wanted to know why you would publish such a terrible article about the Animal Shelter when the SPCA is a wonderful organization and works extremely hard to save animals. Clearly you're one of the 48 percent of South Carolinians who didn't make it out of high school. The article was about the problems with the shelter. The shelter is operated by Aiken County and, other than a sometimes cordial relationship between the two, the shelter has nothing whatsoever to do with the SPCA.

Control the prices

I would like to encourage everyone to not buy an automobile for the next year so that we can get these ungodly prices down from where they are. This is ridiculous.
