Chick-fil-A to hold a Spirit Night

Chick-fil-A will hold a Spirit Night for the "Just Give Me Jesus Revival" on Tuesday, Aug. 14 from 5 to 8 p.m. at 1267 Knox Avenue, North Augusta, and 202 Eastgate Drive, Aiken. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Just Give Me Jesus- Augusta, a free revival for women to be held on Sept. 21 and 22 at the James Brown Arena. Fort Gordon Club to hold sign ups

The Fort Gordon Spouses and Civilians Club will be holding their membership kick off/supers sign up at the Family Outreach Center (behind Woodworth Library) Wednesday, Aug. 15 from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Membership is open to anyone affiliated with Fort Gordon, including active duty military and retirees, DOD civilians, contractors and their adult family members. Woodturners will meet Aug. 18

The Savannah River Woodturners will meet on Saturday, Aug. 18 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 144 N. Bel Air Road in Augusta. Mark Sillay will demonstrate Finial Turning and Sea Urchin Shell Ornaments. AHS Work Day to be held on Saturday

AHS Work Day and Volunteer Rally will be held on Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon. All AHS parents, faculty/administrators and graduates and their friends are encouraged to attend. This is an opportunity for student service groups and community organizations. Attendees will be planting, painting, edging, pruning and doing general maintenance. Other volunteer projects will be generated. Owned equipment is helpful but not necessary. Ideas are welcome. Donations of water and bails of pine straw are accepted. The following work day will be Sept. 29 from 8 a.m. to noon.

The Aiken group of the American Sewing Guild, CSRA chapter, will hold its monthly meeting on Aug. 13 at 10 a.m. in the community room of HarborChase on Silver Bluff Road.
