Fox Creek High School's basketball program was to have begun its season this week, in action at home Tuesday versus Cross Creek.

The boys have Andre Baskett returning as their coach and the girls have a new skipper: Richard Brady.

Brady's bunch includes seniors Angelica Johnson, Stefanie Bloedel, Haley Bryant and Summer Payne; juniors Taylor Sheppard, Domonique Moore and Keiana Green; sophomore Tamia Johnson; and freshmen Dajia Mims, Constance Mays and Caitlin Patton.

"We're a little deeper than last year, we've grown from having only eight girls to having 12," Brady said. "We've only had one scrimmage with volleyball doing as well as they did, so we'll have to see what happens on the court. We're looking forward to the challenge and stiff competition we'll face."

Baskett's squad has four seniors: Chris Harmon, Martrell Allen, Brandon Gladney and D.J. Curry. Juniors on board are Deondre Baskett, Darshon Broadwater, Jaquan Williams, Marquis Barley, Andrew Crytzer and Alan Randall.

Completing the Predator roster are sophomores Brandyn Quiller and Marques Sumner and freshmen K.J. Green, Cole Sherlock and Corrin Cannon.

Fox Creek's girls have never qualified for the playoffs. The boys have reached that landmark but fell short last season.

Following the opener against Cross Creek, the next action is to be today (Thursday) through Saturday, in the Augusta Prep Thanksgiving Tournament. The boys are to start at 4 and the girls at 5:30 p.m.

The Predators' next home contests are to be Jan. 8 against Ridge Spring-Monetta. Sweetwater Baptist Church remains the site for the Predators' home games.
