North Augusta Middle School

NAMS is collecting nonperishable food items through Nov. 30 for the Golden Harvest Food Bank. There will be prizes for the three homerooms with the most donations.

The 2012-2013 Step Team, sponsored by Crystal Bush, includes Aleria Smith, Alexxia Reed, Aliyah Johnson, Candice Thomas, Destiny Patten, Heather Dunbar, Jayla Gaines, Jazlyn Bailey, Kiara Aldrich, Swan Anderson, Makayla Cummings and Zalasha Aldrich.

The Chess Club meets each Thursday from 3:15 to 4 p.m. in Ms. Hodges classroom.

The Stand Up & Stop Bullying Club will meet Dec. 10, Jan. 14, Feb. 11, March 11, April 15 and May 13.

This year's Career Speaker Day will be held on Dec. 5 from 8:15 to 10:10 a.m. Anyone wishing to be a speaker on Career Day is asked to register on the school's website or contact Mrs. Echols. Anyone who would like to held out is asked to contact Leslie Echols, career specialist, at lechols@aiken.k12.sc.us.

The 2012-2013 NAMS Girls Basketball Team includes Jasmine Jones, Sarah Crews, Elizabeth Allen, Amaya Moore, Hyori McDowell, Mikayla Jenkins, Caroline Robins, Amari Smith, Kiera Reed, Shicoria Bosket, Desiree Wright and Amari Young and manager Lonesia Lee.

NAMS boys basketball team includes Jadon Daughtery, Reames Meyer, Cameron Davis, Josh Gordon, Austin Mills, Darius Copeland, Tavion Davis, Landon Washington, Ryan Walden, Dreke Waltower, Tyrek Walls, Bryson Mazone, Dalton Tolar and managers Quadtez Webb, Jamarcus Boyd and Jules Williams.

Belvedere Elementary School

First graders will sing at the PTO meeting on Dec. 3 at 6 p.m.

The Principal's Writing Board for November includes Emily Ragsdale, Nicholas Moore, Gabriel James, Isabella Adriano, Ashley Grant and Lilly Cruz.

100 Book Club - Ethan Norris, Madison Holmes, Phillip Dortch, Mark Gregory, Mary Ann Bunch, Evan Hargrove, Amber Norris, Sydney Rogers, Jack Williamson, Chatham Wright, Madison Johnson, Mark Gregory, Hunter Raws, Blake Burden, Sarah Henry, Devin Plexico and Courtney Vincent.

DARE essay winners are Brianna Boyd, Chasity Hazel, Summer Burch and Taderia Page.

Achieving a perfect score on PASS are Chasity Hazel, Daniel Simonds, Chloe Marrtin, Elizabeth Herndon and Colin Donaldson.

Mossy Creek

Mossy Creek is an official drop-off location for Toys for Tots. Folks are asked to donate a new, unwrapped toy.

Spirit Day is Nov. 28. It's Neon Day and students are encouraged to wear their brightest colors.

The school recognized the testing monitors in second grade - Charles Hall, Barbara Price, Carolyn Gibbs, Kayla Vinson, Kathleen Roach, Carmella Jennings, Keeley Seider, Glora Foster and Angela Ard.

North Augusta Elementary School

NAE School Talent Show is set for Dec. 3 at 6 p.m. at the PTO meeting.

Auditions will be held the week after Thanksgiving, Nov. 28 through Dec. 1., in the music room.

NAHS

Carol Creamer and Shay Thatcher have received North Augusta Cultural Arts Council grants for creative projects with the arts.

Carol Creamer also received the NAHS PTSA educational grant for October.

ELA teacher Jennifer Holley had just received the Ruth Patrick Science Center's Innovative Teacher Award.
