Miss Hobbs weds Mr. Wineka at Grace UMC
Miss Jenna Dee Hobbs of Columbia became the bride of Mr. Samuel Have Wineka on July 14, 2012, at Grace United Methodist Church. The Rev. Dr. John Newell officiated at the 6 p.m. ceremony.
The bride is a daughter of Drs. David and Donna Hobbs of North Augusta. She is a granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Blake Sawyers of Sanford, Fla., who attended the wedding, and of the late Mr. and Mrs. Allen Hobbs of Charlotte, N.C.
The groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Mark Wineka of Salisbury, N.C. He is a grandson of Mr. and Mrs. David Alford III of Oak Ridge, Tenn., and of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wineka of Dover, Penn.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an ivory taffeta gown featuring a sweetheart ruched neckline that flowed into a fitted trumpet skirt with pick-up detail and feathered flowers throughout. Her veil was cathedral-length Alencon lace. At the reception she traded the veil for a feathered flower with Swarovski crystals that matched the gown. She carried a bouquet of roses, orchids, lilies, hydrangeas and sweet peas, in shades of purples and ivory.
Miss Michal Hobbs of Nashville, Tenn., was her sister's maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Jamie Cavanaugh of Chapel Hill, N.C.; Mrs. Jamie Disharoon of Columbia; Miss Heather Kyzar of Tyler, Texas; Miss Robyn Sawyers of Raleigh, N.C., cousin of bride; Dr. Fareesh Kanga of Denver, Colo., sister-in-law of bride; Miss Cate Teplansky of Richmond, Va.; and Miss Laura Toews of Bethesda, Md.
The attendants wore cocktail length, Dupioni silk, quarry (silver-gray) gowns and carried bouquets that were smaller versions of the bride's bouquet.
Serving as the flower girl was Little Miss Ameera Hobbs, niece of the bride.
Mr. Benn Wineka of Atlanta, brother of the groom, and Mr. Matthew Clements of Astoria, N.Y., were the best men. Groomsmen were Mr. Brian Bennett of Washington, D.C.; Mr. Ryan Barry of Washington, D.C.; Mr. Steven DelVecchio of Astoria, N.Y.; Dr. Stephen Hobbs of Denver, Colo., brother of bride; Mr. Daniel McCoy of Hoboken, N.J.; and Michael Simpson of Salisbury, N.C.
A reception was held at The River Room of St. Paul's Church, Augusta.
Keeping the bride's book were Mrs. Tammy Bussey and Miss Megan Bussey, both of North Augusta.
Others assisting at the reception were Jessilyn Davis of Mountain View, Calif., scripture reader; Katie Haug of Hope Mills, N.C., and Maureen Hohl of Washington, D.C., program attendants.
Following a wedding trip to the Dominican Republic, Mr. and Mrs. Wineka are making their home in Arlington, Va.
The bride graduated from North Augusta High School in 2004, UNC-Chapel Hill in 2008 with a B.S. in nursing and USC-Columbia in 2012 with a Master of Nurse Anesthesia. She is employed by Fair Oakes Anesthesia Associates in Fairfax, Va., as a nurse anesthetist.
The groom graduated from Salisbury (N.C.) High School in 2004, UNC-Chapel Hill in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communications. He is employed by Outreach Strategies in Washington, D.C.
