Golf cart stolen from park shed
An EZ-GO golf cart belonging to the Olde Towne Preservation Association was stolen during the Saturday-Sunday overnight hours, according to a report from the North Augusta Department of Public Safety.
The cart, a black electric model with cream-colored trim, was taken from inside a locked storage shed in the Living History Park between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. It was described as having a “Colonial Carriage” sticker and multiple scratches on the front.
Valued at $4,000, the cart was donated to the association by EZ-GO about three years ago, according to Lynn Thompson, representing the association. She described herself and her fellow volunteers as “sick” in the aftermath of the crime.
Referring to the criminal(s), she noted, “They cut two locks off the gate to the golf cart and the 8-foot gate at the other entrance.”
