Jones selected to PBC second-team

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — Three USC Aiken softball players received All-Peach Belt Conference honors at a banquet on the eve of the Peach Belt Conference Softball Tournament.

Among them is senior Lindsey Jones, a North Augusta grad, who was a Second-Team selection.

Jones started all 47 games for the Pacers this season. Jones leads the Pacers in slugging percentage (. 403), total bases (58) and RBIs (22). She also leads the team with five multiple-RBI games. Jones had 10 multiple-hit games.

The Pacer third baseman owns a .307 (42-for-137) batting average. She batted .319 (22-for-69) in Peach Belt Conference play. She also picked up two hits in the Pacers’ 5-2 upset win over North Georgia in the first round of the tournament. The Pacers fell to Georgia College the next day, 4-3 to end their bid for the tournament crown.
