Woo-hoo! Did you hear that? That was the sound of me shouting with joy because I am in the final round of the North Augusta Idol competition. It is such an honor to be competing. Five acts from my school, Hammond Hill Elementary, were selected to move to the final round of the competition. I am one of the finalists along with Linda Barrett, Heidi Coughenour, Nadia Blackwood and Olivia Dill (duet) and Jordan Rose Parker.

To prepare for the competition, I practiced playing the piano for two hours every day. It was really fun. For the tryouts, I played "Heart and Soul." I was so nervous; it felt like I had butterflies in my stomach.

The North Augusta Idol competition will be held March 19 at 7 p.m. in the auditorium at North Augusta High School. Please come join the fun and support our fantastic local performers.
