An incident of simple larceny occurred on RiverNorth Drive Feb. 13, with $650 in tools being stolen from a construction site. Stolen were a Dewalt compact drill and charger and a blue-and-brown tool belt with various hand tools.

A Barton Road residence was the scene of a Feb. 9 larceny. Stolen was a municipal garbage container, valued at $125.

A simple larceny occurred at a variety store on Knox Avenue Feb. 9, with a wallet being stolen from inside a purse in a shopping cart. The loss was estimated at $841, including $815 in cash.

A North Augusta man is a suspect in a case of ill treatment of animals, after a Feb. 11 incident on Austin Street. A responding officer noticed a dog running loose and found two more dogs that were tethered to chains, without collars and without access to food, water or shelter. One of them was "eating a puppy."

A burglary occurred Feb. 1 on Brookgreen Drive, with $31,750 in items being stolen, including two safes, a pistol, a revolver, two laptop computers, a wedding ring, three lady's-style rings, two lady's-style watches, a Citizen-brand watch, a men's-style wedding band and a red-and-black leather case.
