Detour lessons
On our last trip to Kentucky, as we encountered a severe traffic delay near Knoxville, Tenn., we reluctantly decided to take a detour on some of the less-traveled side roads. The winding mountain pathways led us through quaint communities and nature's beautiful landscapes. Upon returning to Interstate 75, we realized that this unscheduled experience had enriched our trip and provided scenes for future memories. At times, delays, interruptions and unexpected events, although initially exasperating, end up blessing us. Some detours can provide good lessons for life. "In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight" (Proverbs 3:6).
