Chamber speaker to speak on 'culture of excellence'

"Creating a culture of excellence" is the focal point for Rick Grandinetti, the keynote speaker at this year's annual meeting of the North Augusta Chamber of Commerce, set for today (Thursday) at 6 p.m.

The Cleveland native, author of "Succeed Inside the Box," said he hopes to share from his 25-plus years of experience, aiming "to raise the bar in everything you do, without hiring more or advertising more."

Grandinetti, who now resides in Cary, N.C., "has rolled up his sleeves and physically worked with organizations to produce results in efficiency, productivity, profit, leadership and service," as listed in promotional material.

The gathering's highlights are to also to include presentation of the "Citizen of the Year." Honorees in recent years have included Ray and Lynn Fleming, Lynn Thompson, Jeanne McDaniel, Dr. Billy Thurmond, E.J. and Shirley Holgate, Charles Martin and the late Gordon Farmer.

Also to be presented is the "Ambassador of the Year" award, along with introduction of the chamber's new board of directors and honors for the retiring directors.

The social hour is to begin at 6 p.m. and the dinner and program are to start at 7 p.m. Details are at 279-2323.
