Pat Terry to perform at First Baptist Church
Musician Pat Terry, the writer of such songs as "Home Where I Belong" and "I Can't Wait," is to be in town next month, as the featured guest at the second Boomer Winter Bash, at First Baptist Church of North Augusta.
The Feb. 2 event, set for 7 p.m., is to include "a nostalgic coffee house concert, warm fellowship, good coffee and sweet desserts," as noted in an announcement from the church.
It noted that Terry's early career included writing songs that were recorded by such singers as B.J. Thomas, Ray Price and Roy Rogers. More recently, his creations were recorded by Confederate Railroad, Kenny Chesney, Tanya Tucker and the Oak Ridge Boys, among other performers. His wedding song, "That's the Way," was recorded by Alan Jackson in 2007.
Tickets are $12 in advance, at 625 Georgia Avenue, in the church's administrative building, and $16 at the door. The host site is to be The Underground, which is the lower level of the Children's Learning Center, at 602 Georgia Avenue. Details are at 279-6370.
