Pressley named Star Player of Week

Running back DeVonte Pressley is the Star Player of the Week, in honor of his role in the Yellow Jackets' 42-29 win over Nation Ford.

The 5-foot-6, 140-pound senior had 43 carries for a total of 256 yards, including two touchdowns.

"It's all because of the offensive line, basically, and the position coach and coaching staff overall," said Pressley, whose position coach is Robert Morgan.

He said Morgan's key principles are "play hard, play fast, and don't take plays off."

Pressley, whose mother is Catherine Jones, was also honored as the top player in the Jackets' season opener. Following him, in order, were Kris Howard, Trey Morgan, Devin Grimes, Zach Wilson, Brandon Maddox, Trib Reece, Cam Hampton, Robbie Morgan, Ronald Williams and Trey Morgan.
