The Creek Speaks for Nov. 1
Red Ribbon Week
Do you have Red Ribbon Week at your school? Well, at Mossy Creek Elementary we have Red Ribbon Week. So here are some things about it. Many of you think Red Ribbon Week is just for fun, well, it's not. It is about Kiki Camarena and how he tried to stop violence and people from doing drugs. He said, "I might be only one person, but that doesn't mean I can't make a difference." Think about that for a little bit.
Well, moving on now. At MCE we are having fun activities each day of Red Ribbon Week. On Monday, Oct. 22, everyone was supposed to wear their favorite team colors, and I wore red and black, because I'm a Georgia fan. Tuesday, we had to wear camouflage. A lot of people dressed up for this day; they painted their faces and wore camouflage hats. On Wednesday, we had to wear red and boots. People got crazy; they painted their faces and spray painted their hair red, too. Thursday, it was crazy hat day. I wore a pink hat with a colorful wig on top, it rocked. Friday was '80s day, and everyone had a blast that day. That is what Red Ribbon Week was like at MCE.
