Chaplain’s Corner: A mother’s joy
Waiting to transact business in an office setting, I observed a young couple with twin toddlers. The father, an Army captain, held one child while the mother cared for the other one. I noticed that these parents seemed quite relaxed as the girls engaged in normal movements and verbal responses to their environment. The mother smiled and laughed lovingly with the children; that impressed me more than anything else. Her spontaneous joy gave me a positive feeling about the future of these beautiful children. “Behold, children are a gift of the LORD; the fruit of the womb is a reward” (Psalm 127:3).
