Clemson senior spends semester in China

Christopher Lamar Robinson of North Augusta, a senior at Clemson University, is spending this semester studying in Chengdu, China. Robinson is a genetics major at Clemson. Clemson students are strongly encouraged to take advantage of study-abroad opportunities. International living and learning provides students with new perspectives that will stay with them long after graduation. Clemson offers foreign study programs for all disciplines and interests in locations all over the world.

Insurance agent attends 12th summit

Local insurance agent Kevin Hunt has been chosen by the Horace Mann Insurance Company for the 12th year in a row to attend a leadership summit from March 20-28. The conference is open only to Horace Mann agents in the top 5 percent of production with acceptable customer service ratings. Hunt serves the North Augusta area from his office in Clearwater.

Williamson graduates with bachelor's degree

During Limestone College's December graduation exercises, Jeffery Williamson of North Augusta was bestowed a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resource/Training & Development. Limestone College is a four-year, liberal arts institution with its main campus in Gaffney and seven sites located throughout the state.

Green receives master's degree from USC

Allison Green graduated with her Masters in Early Childhood Special Education from the University of South Carolina on December 17, 2012. She was a graduate from USC in May of 2011 and has been teaching kindergarten for the past two years in Columbia while also attending as a full-time graduate student. She was on the dean's list each quarter and was the recipient of grants for working full time while attending graduate school full time. Allison is the daughter of Janice and Mike Green of North Augusta and is a 2007 graduate of North Augusta High School.

Local swimmer takes 6th at nationals

Bradley Green took 6th in the NAIA Nationals for his swim of the 400 IM in Oklahoma City last month along with top 16 finishes in the 200 IM and 200 Fly. He has been part of the Savannah College of Art and Design Men's Swim Team for the past two years. His accomplishments also include placing in the top 12 at the Open Water 5K Nationals as well as a Blue Mountain Conference Finalist. He studies Architecture at SCAD, is the son of Janice and Mike Green of North Augusta and is a 2011 graduate of North Augusta High School.

Green receives helicopter pilot wings

1st Lt. Christopher Green received his Marine Corps Helicopter Pilot Wings on March 8. He was a 2010 graduate of the US Naval Academy, chose Marine Air, and has been in flight school in Pensacola, Fla., Corpus Christie, Texas and Milton, Fla. He will be stationed in North Carolina flying the UH-1Y aircraft after an additional six month training in San Diego, Calif. He is the son of Janice and Mike Green of North Augusta and is a 2006 graduate of North Augusta High School.
