Chaplain's Corner: Rest Assured

How we perceive the passage of time depends upon the circumstances. If we engage in routine activities for three weeks, we may not even notice the pace of time; however, the one who had to wait three weeks for the results of a medical lab test felt the weight of each successive day. When the news finally came, the physician made a statement that erased anxiety: "Rest assured that the biopsy report returned benign." These words of assurance produced joy and energy. "Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings" (Hebrews 10:22a).
