MVHS annual baseball and softball tournaments set for this weekend

Midland Valley High School's annual baseball and softball tournaments are set for this weekend, with Fox Creek High School taking part and North Augusta's softball program also on board. Championship games are set for March 2 for softball and baseball alike.

North Augusta's baseball program, with Victor Radcliff returning as head coach, has its first competition a few days farther out, in a tournament set for Feb. 28 at Gilbert.

Softball play in Midland Valley's tournament will be spread between both the diamonds at the high school and Aiken Technical College.

North Augusta's softball action, with Derrick Quinn returning as head coach, is to be Friday at 5 p.m. versus Silver Bluff; Saturday (time unconfirmed), Fox Creek; Monday, 5 p.m., Barnwell; and Wednesday 5 p.m., South Aiken.

In addition to facing North Augusta on Saturday, Fox Creek's softball team will also play South Aiken Saturday (at ATC) at 6 p.m., White Knoll Monday (also at ATC), 5 p.m.; and Silver Bluff March 1, 5 p.m. David Bell is back as Fox Creek's coach this season.

In the baseball tournament, Fox Creek's action is to be Friday against James Island, 7:30 p.m.; Monday, Dixie, 5 pm.;, Wednesday, Silver Bluff, 5 p.m.; and Thursday, Barnwell, 5 p.m. Wesley Brown is returning as the Predators' coach.
