Heritage center to host 11 exhibits in 2013
The Arts and Heritage Center would like to thank everyone for their support this past month. A lot of wonderful people visit the AHC in December, and they supported our local artists by purchasing items from the gallery and the gift shop.
The AHC will host 11 exhibits in 2013. The current gallery exhibit is "Open Session," is an artist's choice exhibit. The North Augusta Sports Commission's Hall of Fame display is in the balcony. Both exhibits will be up until Feb. 22.
A "Casino Night" fundraiser will be held on Feb. 22 at the Julian Smith Casino from 6:30 to 10 p.m. Tickets are available at the AHC, Jim Bush Florist, Parks Pharmacy or by visiting AHCNA's website. Tickets cannot be purchased at the door.
In March, the AHC will host the City of North Augusta's "SpringFest Art Competition" and the works of Edith Jackson Alexander, the daughter of the founder of North Augusta. Alexander taught art at Rosemary Hall for many years. If anyone own any works by Edith and would like to lend them to the AHC for this exhibit, call Lauren at 441-4380.
The AHC is located on the first floor of the North Augusta Municipal Center, 100 Georgia Ave. It is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and every first Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for students (K-12) and free for AHCNA members and those age 5 and younger. For more information, call 441-4380 or visit www.artsandheritagecenter.com.
